Spirits Rebellious

Parables, in the Biblical, Blake-ian prose which have brought the now dead mystic a very dedicated following, these tell of the valuelessness of jewels and money as against the worth of true, spiritual love; of the earthly judgment on a murderer, a thief, an adulteress, and the hope of a higher forgiveness; of two lovers- and a death tryst; and of the escape of the “”heretic”” Kahlil, as he is driven from a monastery, brings Christianity to the Lebanon. The transfiguration, exaltation characteristic of all his work, and for his devoted, devotional audience. -Kirkus Review
